Mission proposée

EduCARE India, is an Indian non-profit organization working to facilitate the empowerment, education and environmental sustainability of rural communities. Through applied research and grass-root level development work, we seek to find innovative solutions to some of the complex social and environmental issues faced in these communities.

Our projects operate through several ViKAS centres located across rural areas in north India working with different marginalized individuals and communities towards their life skills development, livelihood sustainability, health and sanitation and education and awareness. EduCARE India has several affiliate programs that specialize in different fields such as education, empowerment, environmental conservation, microfinance/ micro-empowerment and health.

The current Programs affiliated under EduCARE India are:
MicroEmpowerED – microfinance and marginalised community development
Rural Health Care India – health care for rural areas and urban slums
ConservEN – Environmental conservation and sustainable development
ECRC – Education and Career Resource Centre
Young Women’s IDEA – Women’s Empowerment

These programs and projects often overlap and some interns work under several program areas. Additionally, our environmental conservation projects work on waste management, organic farming, recycling and the promotion and sales of environmentally friendly products. We invite international interns, looking for a non-profit volunteer work intern program to join our team of international interns for the following role:

Project Manager _ Rural Health Care :

The community healthcare project is a holistic program that works with marginalized communities to provide culturally appropriate health education and try to address issues of access for these communities. The aim of the Health and Community Care Project is twofold. Firstly, we are trying to bridge the gap between availability of government healthcare services and the actual access of these services by the marginalized communities that we work with. Secondly, we aim to empower the communities by improving their own understanding of different health problems through health education, and improve their capacity to address some of the health needs that exist in their communities themselves. Past projects have included nutrition education programs, work with children with developmental disabilities, vaccination education workshops with government officials and more. The Project Manager will be responsible for doing a needs assessment to establish what healthcare needs exist in the communities, and based off of that needs assessment establishing culturally appropriate projects in the marginalized communities.

This program seeks to build a working, sustainable and non-dependent relationship between the migrant communities and the government hospital through hospital visits and assessing and analyzing the system in relation to their needs. The research and project creation by the project manager will work to facilitate this goal.

Potential Project Areas include:

Hygiene and sanitation – clean and safe water
Preventive healthcare
Maternal healthcare
Government health insurance schemes
Promotion of nutritional food and eating habits
Developing equal opportunities and support for challenged and specially-abled
