Position Summary:

The intern will travel Australia by car with one of Cultural Infusion’s premier artists, Sumardi the Indonesian dancer, singer and shadow puppeteer, assisting with the delivery of a national schools tour. The intern will be responsible for liaising with the head office in the scheduling and organisation of the tour as well as communicating with clients on site, setting up for events and gathering feedback.
The role will report to the National Schools and Special Programs Co-ordinator, providing guided experience in event and artist management on a national touring scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with set up/ pack up of equipment and tech support (eg. Audio cues) for each program (as necessary)
• Liaise with home office regarding scheduling and directions for tour
• Communicate with client on site regarding program and feedback
• Organise artist by setting and monitoring estimated travel and departure times
• Assisting with delivery of workshop (helping guide students on the process of creating their own shadow puppets in the workshop program)
• Share driving duties with artist
• Role requires the ability to drive a car in Australia and successful candidate must hold a valid and current driver’s license.

Position Requirements:

• Must have current driver’s license and be able legally to drive in all Australian states
• Must be financially able to cover costs of food and other spending while on tour
• Cultural Infusion will supply touring vehicle and provide accommodation for touring components
• Well presented with a positive personality
• Efficient and welcoming manner and excellent interpersonal skills
• Multitasking ability and flexible attitude and happy to do any task that might come your way
• Experience working independently and enjoy doing so
• Good common sense, initiative, ability to work effectively in a busy and demanding environment.
• Good attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure.
