General description :

The Internal Communications Manager is responsible for the effective delivery of information and corporate communications to all EduCARE India Interns and local volunteers. The role is wide ranging, encompassing the timely co-ordination of internal communication through a range of channels to ensure ease of access, clarity and consistency.
Its primary purpose is to make sure all interns and local volunteers understand what is happening within the organisation as a whole, each centre and within each project. The main aim of this job role is to establish, maintain and continually improve a proactive and effective internal communication process within EduCARE India. Internal communications manager continuously and actively collaborates with all members of executive team to keep track on happenings in the organisation and to ensure that the direction of particular projects is in alignment with the main vision and mission of the organisation.

Key roles and Responsibilities :

- Developing an understanding and awareness of the internal communication needs within EduCARE India

- Identifying existing communication channels, tools systems and processes, their weaknesses and strengths; building on existing networks and developing (where required) new internal communications channels in line with the needs of organisation

- Delivering regular communications to all interns and local volunteers through a range of channels, ensuring ease of access to communications, clarity and consistency of messages

- Documentation : continually upload new documents (Google Drive), update the existing ones to ensure satisfactory, consistent and accurate management of information; creating easy access to information

- Managing EduCARE India blogs and social media

- Creating a monthly Internal Newsletter to keep interns informed, create motivation and share important and relevant news

- Creating COM (Communications Operations and Management) Centre for EduCARE India and affiliate programs as first contact point, meeting and working space, knowledge repository and resource centre

- Organising 2 weeks induction process for new interns (covering basic orientation, getting SIM card and registering in the Foreign Office, arranging accommodation, organizing workshops, field visits and meetings with Chief Project Director, Assistant Director and Program Coordinator, ensuring access to documents and information relevant for the work)

- Managing HR listings in line with the needs of organisation - its programs and institutes

Profil recherché et exigences du poste

Skills and Knowledge:

Applicants must have a general knowledge in the theory and practice of related professions such as Journalism, Public and Media relations, Marketing and Human resources, as well as wider Organizational studies, Communication theory, Social psychology, Sociology and Political science.

The ideal candidate will be dynamic, flexible, organized, innovative, creative, independent, patient and strategic.

They must have a basic knowledge of online applications such as office roam as well as a good knowledge of computer programs, Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, adobe Photoshop and adobe illustrator. Furthermore, the intern should have good communication skills in English, be open to learn new languages, demonstrate a clear commitment to developmental work, and have the ability to work well both independently and as a member of a team.

They must be friendly, sensitive to people emotions/feelings and have a good sense of self management. In addition, they should be self motivated and enthusiastic in the job role. Experience in developmental work and living abroad is preferred.
