Introduction :
Located in the heart of the old town of Vallauris, A.I.R. Vallauris (Artists in Residence) welcomes international artists from all horizons to meet and collaborate with local artists and to research and create new work in an artistic laboratory created specifically for them.
The Association has three primary objectives :
· The hosting of resident artists.
· The support of contemporary creation.
· The organization of cultural events.
Objectives :
A.I.R. Vallauris organizes an international competition annually since 2007.
The event “Small Art Objects” is run in conjunction with the Fête Picasso and includes a competition, exhibition and sale of Small Art Objects. This benefit event will takes place annually with the same format but with a different object theme.
The candidate will respond to queries about the event by email and also promote the event to attract applications internationally. Applications will be processed and acceptance confirmed with the artists.
The candidate will also assist in the preparation of exhibition, and the sale of Small Art Objects. A catalog will also be created to document this event.
Tasks :
· respond to application queries by email and follow-up by email with applicants
· process applications
· creation of monthly information bulletin, and sending with iMailing program
· creation of a press kit (newspapers, magazines, radio,tourist office)
· sponsorship queries
· preparation of promotional materials for exhibition
· preparation of exhibition of Small Art Objects
· support for auction and sale of Small Art Objects
· assist with the creation of the catalog for the event
· follow-up with the artists after the event.
Profil recherché et exigences du poste
Required Skills :
o English and French languages.
o Computer skills: internet, MS Word, Excel.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Interest in Art.
Hours and start and end times of internship are flexible.
Remuneration is negotiable.
