Introduction :
Located in the heart of the old town of Vallauris, A.I.R. Vallauris (Artists in Residence) welcomes international artists from all horizons to meet and collaborate with local artists and to research and create new work in an artistic laboratory created specifically for them.
The Association has three primary objectives :
· The hosting of resident artists
· The support of contemporary creation
· The organization of cultural events.
Objectives of internship :
A.I.R. Vallauris accepts applications to the residency program twice annually : April 15th and October 15th.
These applications are processed and candidates are selected in terms of quality of work, suitability of the project to infrastructure of A.I.R. Vallauris and scheduling constraints.
The candidate will respond to queries about the residency program by email and also promote the program to attract applications international. Applications will be processed for review by the jury, and residencies will be scheduled and confirmed with the artists. The candidate will also assist in the preparation of facilities for residents, the welcoming and orientation of residents to the center and the support of residents with day-to-day queries regarding logistics.
Tasks :
· respond to application queries by email
· follow-up by email with selected residents prior to arrival
· creation of monthly information bulletin, and sending with eMailing program
· communication of monthly activities to press (magazines, radio, newspapers)
· create project plans for resident artists
· communicate and maintain relationships with international partners
· establish agreements with international partners.
Profil recherché et exigences du poste
Required Skills :
o English and French languages.
o Computer skills: internet, MS Word, Excel.
o Excellent communication skills.
o Interest in Art.
Hours and start and end times of internship are flexible.
